Cabomba aquatica shows leaf-dimorphism: the submerged leaves are finely dissected, but the floating leaves are entire and elliptic in shape. Not surprisingly, the yellow flowers are pushed up into the air from the stems with the floating leaves to allow pollination by insects. Copyright: Bert van den Wollenberg, 1995. |
